Samuel Dwight Booze

January 29, 1953 — January 19, 2025

Samuel Dwight Booze was born on January 29, 1953, to the late Samuel Booze and Dorothy
Virginia Mabone Booze in Memphis, TN. He was the youngest of two children born into a
loving family and was affectionately called Dwight by all who knew him. Dwight was a
gentle spirit with a compassionate heart. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age.
He attended Norris Elementary School and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1971.
Driven by a desire for further education, Dwight went on to attend LeMoyne-Owen
College, graduating in 1975.
Dwight worked briefly for Nike when they opened their facility near Hacks Cross. He had a
deep love for family gatherings and sports, and he had a remarkable ability to connect with
others, making everyone feel loved and at home. At family gatherings, he and the other
family members would either discuss their favorite teams or watch games on TV together.
Preceding his death is Samuel Booze, great-niece Aaliyha Noell Abston.
Dwight is survived by his mother, Dorothy V. Mabone Booze, and his brother, Ronnie
Gregory (Annette) Booze; as well as two nieces, Dorian Marie Booze (Alvin) Abston and
Ashley Renee Booze (Todd) Robinson, along with his great-niece, Gabrielle Renee
Robinson. We praise the Lord for a life that was well-lived and greatly loved.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; whether we die, we die unto the Lord.

whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
