On Sunday, July 15, 2018, in Detroit, MI, the loving spirit of Lela M. Liddell Yarbary went to join the Savior in that home not made by hand.
Lela M. Liddell was born on April 9, 1931 in Memphis, TN to Willie Liddell and Elizabeth Payne Watkins. She attended Memphis City Schools, but graduated from Fayette County Training School in 1949 and from Tennessee A&I State University in 1953. She began her teaching career at Fayette County Training Elementary School and worked there until May, 1965. Following her employment with the school system, she joined the ranks of ASCS now Farm Bureau. Her tenure there spanned almost decades.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Greenwood CME Church in Memphis, TN. She later joined the Morris Chapel CME Church in Somerville, TN where she remained very active as a devoted Steward and president of the Missionary Society until her health began to fail her.
Lela and Augusta were married on September 2, 1947 and to this union of 65 years, two children were born, Augusta Jr. and Joyce.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Thomas Augusta, Jr. (Alberta of Moscow, TN); a daughter, Joyce Yarbary Murrell-Payton of Detriot, MI , 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grand children, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relative and friends
