Girtie Mae Coleman

May 3, 1936 — October 4, 2020

Mrs. Girtie Mae Jones- Coleman 84 years of age. The daughter of  the late Mr. And Mrs. George Francis and Charlie Ophelia Yancey- Jones of Oakland, TN. Went home to be with Our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020.

She was a faithful member of Cleaves Memorial C.M.E. Church Oakland, Tennessee where she served as an Usher proudly welcoming everyone into God's house. Girtie was educated in the public school system of Fayette county, where she graduated from Fayette County Training - High School to further her education she attended Lane College in Jackson,Tennessee.

Mrs. Coleman was an educator that taught  as a Teacher for Fayette County School Board of Education for many years.

She leaves a loving and devoted Daughter, Cynthia Coleman (Jeremiah) Burton,Cordova,Tn., Three grandchildren; one Great grandchild; one Sister, Katherine (Darnell) Watkins, Memphis,Tn., one Brother, William (Brenda) Jones, Memphis, Tn.,Six Sisters-in-laws; Doris Fouche, and Barbara Coleman  both of Somerville,Tn., Modestine Norment, Whiteville,Tn., Claudette Tharpe and Hiwatha (Rudy) Martin both of Nashville,Tn., and Rose Coleman, Memphis,Tn.; one Aunt, Dorothy Coleman, Eads, Tn.

ARRANGEMENTS ARE  As Follows:

Walk through viewing Friday, October 16th, 2020 at Fellowship M.B. Church 7560 Hwy 195 Somerville, TN. from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Private Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at Fellowship M.B. Church

12:00 Noon

Interment West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Gremantown, Tn.

FAMILY IS AWARE THAT 45-50 GUEST OF THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CAN ATTEND THE PRIVATE HOMEGOING SERVICE. WE STRONGLY ADVISE ALL MEMBERS TO PLEASE FOLLOW PROTOCOL.
