Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Union Hill M.B. Church Whiteville, Tennessee. 1:00p.m.Interment Church Cemetery.Visitation with the family Friday, September 16, 2016, from 6:00 m.m. -8:00 p.m. at Mabone Funeral Home Chapel.
My name was Ms.Gearldine N. Giles Polk. I was born to the I late Lucinda Peoples Turner and the late Mr. Buddy Giles on November 4, 1944, in Hardeman County. I departed this earthly life on September 6, 2016, to go home to my heavenly father.
I received an education at Miller School in Fayette County. I later United in matrimony to Mr. Jack Polk.
I accepted Christ as my saviour when I was young at age and joined Smith Chapel Baptist Church. Later I moved my membership to Russell Grove Baptist Church and served as an Usher. While living in Middleton, TN , I United to Mt. Olive Church. Then as I relocated to my home town of Whiteville, TN, I united with my family at Union Hill Baptist Church. I was a member of the Mother's Board. I loved to praise GOD.
I produced three generations and I was a very proud Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. I had a daughter (Mrs. Easter J. Hutchins), a son- in-law (Mr. John Hutchins), a granddaughter (Ms. April Y. Polk), a great-grandson (Mr. Quintez Taylor), and three sisters (Ms. Christine Robertson, Ms. Georgia Allen, and Ms. Oporiah Robertson) to go home to be with our heavenly father before me.
I leave to cherish my memories: two sons "Mr. Jessie J. Giles (Annette) of Jackson, MS and Mr. Calvin B. Polk (Loretta) of Dallas, TX". And five daughters "Mrs. Mattie L. Nelson (Bobby), Mrs. Janice M. Turner (Tommy) both of Whiteville, TN., Ms. Tommie L. Robertson (Howard) and Mrs. Jennifer J. Nelson (Paul) both of Milwaukee, WI, and Mrs. Rose M. Williams (Kenneth) of Oklahoma City, OK". I leave 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. I have had many grandkids as well as great grand- to live under my roof over the years. But I had one grandson to live with me for years Mr. Cortavais K. Polk. I am leaving one sister Ms. Rosie Robertson and a very special niece/neighbor Mrs. Brenda Price (Rodney) both if Whiteville, TN. I am leaving one step brother Mr. Alvin Turner of Memphis, TN.
