Avery Lee Grandberry Hurt 79, years old. was born May 21, 1936 , to A.D and Norsie Hunter Grandberry. She departed this life in peace at home on February 17, 2016. She was educated at Payne School in Macon Tn. She worked at the family grocery store for majority, of her life, sold Avon and work at Troxel for a short time. She accepted Christ at an early age at Philadelphia M.B. Church and later moved her membership to Macon M.B. Church. She was married to Robert Hurt, Jr. for 51 years until his death. To this union , 6 children were born. She is survived by Bobbie Hurt of Minneapolis Minnesota, Gracie (Louis) Scott, Corlis (Napoleon) Dodson, Brenda (Tyrone) Taylor all of Memphis Tennessee and Judy (Ira) Green of Moscow Tennessee. Linda Denise Hurt proceeded her in death. 14 grandchildren:Danyale Jones, Benji Hurt, Nicholas Dodson, Kevin Hurt, Marcus Dodson, Neal Dodson, Joey Hurt, Adrian Hurt, Robin Scott, Tyler Taylor, Cameron Dodson, Brandon Taylor and Breanna Taylor and 25 great grandchildren. One granddaughter Jennifer Hurt Proceeded her in death. She is also survived by 4 brothers Sterling Grandberry, Thomas Grandberry J.B. Grandberry all of Chicago, Ill and A.D. Grandberry Jr, Memphis, Tn. 3 sisters Maureen Brown, Chicago, Il. Josie (Arthur) Linear, Atlanta, Ga. and Kattie (James) Jordan, Rossville, Tn. and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins and friends. Visitation with the family Friday, February 26th from 6;00 p.m. until 8;00 p.m. at Mabone Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be at Macon M.B. Church, 1715 Mosby Rd, Oakland TN 38060 on February 27, 2016 , at 1:00 P.M. Interment Macon M.B. Church Cemetery.
